Intensive, gender based, in-depth discipleship
GCF Discipleship groups train Christians in the skills of Christian living and the specific theology and values of GCF. Each gender-based group is composed of 3-6 people and meets three times a month from September through May. Roughly 1-2 hours of homework is assigned each week.
The weekly meeting consists of Bible memory, fellowship, and homework discussion. It takes three years to complete the curriculum, but you only commit to one year at a time.
Provide instruction in the theology and values of GCF.
Provide instruction in practical Christian living.
Impart ministry skills (evangelism, discipleship, prayer, scripture reading, scripture memory)
Ultimately, we want to make disciples who make disciples who make more disciples.
It is not primarily designed to help you gain more knowledge (although knowledge is very important).
It is not primarily designed to be an accountability group (although accountability is very important).
It does not guarantee you a leadership role at GCF (although we want to identify leaders).
Discipleship happens as truth is applied through modeling and relationships
Each participant commits for one year at a time.
We will ask participants to sign a commitment card each year.
Upon completion of the three-year curriculum, we will encourage each
participant to lead 4-6 new people in a track for the next year. (If there is no spiritual reproduction it is not biblical discipleship).
Once you complete the three-year “Foundations Track,” you can explore additional GCF D-Group tracks. These groups are life-changing.
